Westmead Children's Hospital Pavilions

Location: Westmead
Designed: 1996 (walkway partly realised)
Building Type: Public

These 2 pavilions were sited on a circular walkway around the Hospital Farm Reserve, adjacent to the upper reaches of the Parramatta River. The first pavilion was a children's art studio, and the second a commemorative arbour, built in memory of the children who had passed away in hospital. It was intended as a place of several niches to allow quiet, private contemplation.
